NMJ Lovers | Ivanna & Trent
From their first date, Trent and Ivanna knew they had found their perfect match. Their enduring bond, built on a foundation of true friendship and boundless love, is evident to everyone around them. With a romantic proposal by the bonfire and a stunning coastal wedding, their story is one to be cherished.
So much of what we do at NMJ is centered around love, where did it all begin for you both?
We met at a mutual friends birthday in Bondi, Trent describes it as love at first sight and says that moment the room went silent. However, because of this, he felt anxious and awkward, and he didn't make much of an impression on me that day. It wasn’t until the friend whose birthday it was messaged and connected us. At first it was hard to find time to meet for a date, with Trent working security on weekends, I ended up inviting him to my birthday party which was across from his work. After that night, the rest was history.
How did Trent propose to you? What do you remember most about this special moment?
Trent proposed in a tiny home nestled in the Capertee Valley. His original plan to hike up the valley to a scenic viewpoint for the proposal was ruined by the closure of the national park due to floods. Despite scrambling to find another elaborate option without cell service and limited time, he ended up proposing in the most perfect way imaginable: by a bonfire during sunset, with local wine, cheese, and a game of Scrabble.
Trent, we’d love to know how you chose the perfect engagement ring for Ivanna?
Ivanna has always been a Natalie Marie Jewellery fan, long before we met. The first piece of jewellery I had ever gifted her was the Moon Necklace six years before we got engaged. There was never a question that the engagement ring I would give her would come from anywhere else. Choosing the design wasn’t as straightforward, but Ivanna had always envisioned a non-diamond as her centre stone. When I discovered the significance of a Sapphire (symbolizing honesty, sincerity, and faithfulness and believed to bring good fortune and strengthen marriages) — I knew the ring was perfect.
Trent chose a beautiful One Of A Kind trio design featuring a pale blue marquise-cut Ceylon Sapphire, with trillion cut white diamond side stones.

"I knew we were going to be together forever when I missed him even when we were apart for a few hours (and I still do). He truly is my best friend above all else and I can't imagine a life with anyone else."

Ivanna, when did you realise Trent was the one you wanted to spend your life with…
I knew Trent was a good partner very early with his caring and generous nature, I knew he was going to be a good father by the way he loves and cares for our dachshunds and I knew we were going to be together forever when I missed him even when we were apart for a few hours (and I still do). He truly is my best friend above all else and I can't imagine a life with anyone else.
You tied the knot earlier this year in a beautiful ceremony on the South Coast, tell us about your special day!
Our wedding weekend was everything we could have imagined and more. We focused on traditions and formalities that were important to us, without doing anything just for show or social media. Our primary goal was ensuring everyone had a great time. Most of our guests stayed on site and it felt like one big getaway with all of our most loved friends and family, truly an experience we will never have again! The time we spent over that weekend with our closest friends and family is something we will cherish forever.

At NMJ, the heart of everything we do is love. Tough question, but tell us, what do you know about love?
To us, love is feeling secure and safe but also madly missing that person any time that they are away. It is about not always having the same point of view, but always at trying to understand the other persons. It may be a cliché, however, love is finding your best friend; the one person who you can talk to about anything and the person you can rely on no matter what.
What does this next chapter hold for you both?
Next on the horizon is a six-week trip to Europe and Japan for our belated honeymoon. I am so excited to introduce Trent to my family that live in Greece, and introduce him to another part of my culture. When we return we look forward to growing our family together!
