Bonded together for life | NMJ friends, Hanna and Dior

Created in celebration of love, The Wedding Collective is our newly launched curation of ceremonial treasures that are an ode to the many sentimental moments we have shared with our clients. Having played a role in untold engagements, we wanted to extend the connection to our customers by dedicating precious pieces for their big day, and every special moment that follows. As part of this, we connected with our  NMJ Lovers, past and present to honour their love stories - a sentimental tradition that is at the heart of everything we do as a brand.

Bonded together since the day they were born, bride-to-be Hanna, and best friend and cousin, Dior, have shared a lifetime of memories alongside each other. Both Hanna and Dior describe one another as the ‘sister they never had’, and for Hannah’s special day, Dior will be the only one standing beside her - a beautiful notion that nods to their beautiful bond. Both Hanna and Dior have chosen the Eily Bracelet, a modern heirloom to symbolise their friendship, of which they will wear on Hanna’s wedding day, and for every day that follows.

Here we speak with them about their special friendship, and what they are most looking forward to on the big day. 

 

Hanna: Congratulations on recently becoming engaged! Can you tell us a little bit about the moment Hayden proposed to you?

Thank you! It was the most beautiful and surreal moment. Hayden is such a romantic. The morning went completely to plan despite the weather and my 20 questions about why he was taking me to Bible Gardens. He got down on one knee and to my surprise had the entire proposal captured on film by his friend.

 

Hanna: What are your thoughts around ceremonial traditions, and will you be adopting any for your own celebration?

At this stage, we haven't quite decided. I do like the thought of something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.

 

Hanna: Tell us a little bit about your Maid of Honour and why she will play such an important role in your special day?

I am only having one bridesmaid. It was such an easy decision for me to make. Dior is my cousin and the sister I never had. I am so excited to have her by my side on our day.

 

Hanna: How will you and your Maid of Honour be spending the morning of your wedding?

We will wake up to watch the sunrise over the ocean. This is important to me; I find it so calming. Followed by hair and makeup. I have my mum, mother in law (to be) and a close friend who will also be joining us.

 

Hanna: At NMJ, we believe Jewellery is a form of storytelling, self-expression and individualism. What does jewellery mean to you?

I feel jewellery speaks so much about a person. Every piece I own has a unique story or beautiful memory behind it that I will cherish forever.

 

Hanna: At NMJ, at the heart of everything we do is love. Tough question, but tell us, what do you know about love?

Love to me is almost indescribable. It is a feeling that cannot be ignored. I have most certainly found that in Hayden. 

Dior: Tell us about your friendship with Hanna and what it will be like for you to stand alongside her on her special day?

This is more than your average friendship, we are family and I’ve known Hanna all her life. We’ve always been close like sisters and I know I’ll be holding back the tears watching her marry the love of her life.

 

Dior: What do you know about friendship?

I know that true friendship is unconditional and it just feels real. 

Dior: What special moments of the day are you most looking forward to?

She wasn’t called Hanna The Dancing Queen for nothing! As much as I can not wait to see her in the dress, that dance floor does not know what’s coming haha!
